did nothing to change my mind on who she is and what she has done. There is a pendulum in all ideas, and in my mind the pendulum associated with sexual assault had swung too far, which erases intellectual discussions and the coming together on an organized plan to deal with this issue. Leaping on a "band wagon" discounts the nuances in any issue. Cool heads are needed to discuss and find an appropriate course of action for the #metoo movement to flourish. Ms Gillibrand does not have that cool head and has shown her willingness to "jump on the bandwagon" rather that dealing with this issue in a rational manner. Just to be clear, I am a survivor of teenage sexual assault, but I have learned that true change requires rational discussion, not throwing people to "the wolves" Wolves would treat their own with more understanding.

Women die in very high percentages by their mate or acquaintances.
I don't know the actual % amount but it's off the charts for reasons for death for a child-baring-aged woman in the US and around the world.

Women are dying because they didn't survive long enough for the #MeToo movement. They were murdered. By their partners/lovers/spouses.

14. I sympathize with your statement, but the discussion here is about her actions without proper

analysis of the situation.

She threw herself into an accusation, which is in fact disturbing as I understand she is a lawyer. One would hope for lawyers to strongly believe in "innocence until proven guilty" and for whatever reason, she allowed herself to "act before thinking", to prosecute without due course, to demand for the resignation of a man without a proper investigation.

What she did has been very detrimental, not only to her career, but to the entire democratic system. How can a lawyer accept allegations from anonymous accusers? In what court of law would that be accepted as evidence?

Today I was thinking that for her it must have been the pleasure of the lights upon her, just how you would feel the Sun the first day of Spring, of course in this case she must have felt empowered and righteous, but for a lawyer to dismiss due process sets a terrible precedence. A better strategy would have been to allow Franken the investigation of his accusers, and his actions, as he requested, that would have forced investigations on the republicans while preserving Franken's so much needed position in the Senate.

Anyway, I am not contradicting what you wrote, but it does not serve as a good justification for what she did.

"THINK BEFORE YOU ACT" applies to everyone. No, SHE DID NOT DO GOOD, she actually did very bad, the consequences are not good, on any level.

15. It's Nice That She Is Calling on President Trump to Resign, But...

When she talks about investigation, she shoots herself in the foot because she did NOT allow Franken to be duly investigated. That runs counter to a core principle of American democracy, and the American legal system: Innocent until proven guilty, and due process. I think her image has been irreparably tainted and tarnished by the way she led the charge to throw Franken under the bus with such haste, and without even a hearing before the ethics committee. If she's trying to score some trendy political points with the presidency in her sights, she's definitely on the wrong track.
