1. if Trump tries to pardon Flynn or Manafort & Repubs let him get away with it, our democracy is dead

If he tries to use the pardon to kill the investigation into Russian collusion with Trump or he tries to pardon himself, our Republican legislature has to respond by removing him from office. If that doesn't happen, Republicans will have essentially eliminated the last institutional barrier to the US becoming a single-party state. We will fall into a positive-feedback cycle where Republicans continuously erode the civil liberties to avoid unfavorable election outcomes.

2. I believe GOP congress will not remove him from office.

45 can't pardon his pals that have committed state crimes so a few will get nailed by the states. The people will have to petition Congress to remove him from office. Civil disobedience, resistance, and boycotts will have to be a commitment by 50% of the population and do it consistently in loud, strong, and impactful ways. Only then will the GOP realize we have had it. If they don't do it I can see violent revolutions becoming the next step until the people have their country back. A new wave of patriotism will bring this to fruition.
