12. After the 2000 election, many sources said that the Republicans were prepared

to raise Holy Hell if the popular vote/ electoral vote went the other way. The vote count was stopped even though Gore was eventually the real winner. You can be sure that had Dubya had been the "loser" in 2000, the Electoral College would have been gone by 2016 or the Republicans would still be screaming. A half million people were negligible?
