This is an important point to reiterate as much as possible.

I say this because conditions are ripe for another" Saddam/WMD,Gulf of Tonkin,Lusitania " false-flag " Day of Infamy " attack designed to get us into a war with Iran.

I can see it now...

Mitt says " you guys are not properly prepared for Olympics "

Successful terrorist attack at Olympics.

Mitt says " See! I told you so ! "

President Romney Triples defense spending while eliminating taxes for the " Job Creators ."

We invade Iran.

Beginning of the greatest Depression ever...

followed by the total censorship of the internet.

Sorry, I guess I'm feeling somewhat cynical today .....

3. False flag "Day of Infamy"?????

I certainly hope you are not suggesting that Pearl Harbor was a false flag.

If you are, I may have to educate you about the history.

Let's not let loonie conspiracies leak into our mainstream forums.

If that was not your intention, I apologize. But as one well read in WW II history, I have a very low tolerance for this insidious meme that FDR knew about Pearl Harbor before the fact and let it happen to triumph over the isolationist Republicans.

That story is utter rubbish, and many who were active participants have put the same on record, with documentation.

Enough with this false flag Day of Infamy shit.

I am disgusted.

You cannot deny that most of the country wanted nothing to do with the War .

After this event, they did.

This pattern occurs world-wide and will happen again ( maybe very soon ).

Also cannot deny that " Day of Infamy " speech rouse public to war...

Also ...

" History " is replete with rubbish.

Also,

I think FDR is one of the greatest Presidents of all time.

But he did make that speech.

and since the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, I'd have to agree that it was not a false-flag attack.

On the other hand, I'd rather see people spend more time getting disgusted over things happening now as opposed to events from 70+ years ago, so....

My apologies if anyone was offended .

I did not intend to disparage President Roosevelt .

Sorry.

Well, if you will forgive me, I am going to take you to task on your FDR comment.

You made the statement in the totle of this post possibly because you just do not know. And the argument from ignorance is the weakest argument of all.

To put it crudely: I don't know shit about this so I can click on Net links and believe any ignorance posted within.

History isn't like that. There is documentation and, if you please, audit trails, witnesses to history.

Yes, there are always people who do not take the trouble to delve into the vagaries and complexities of historic documents.

There is zero... I will repeat that... zero evidence that Pearl Harbor was a false flag.

All this has been digested ad nauseum. My favorite, although a bit of a personal account, is Edwin Layton's And I Was There which gives the unique perspective of the fleet intelligence officer under both Admirals Kimmel and Nimitz throughout the war in the Pacific.

This personal view shook the conspiracy, false flag, kooks up when it was published in 1985, right after Layton's death. It was finished by two naval historians, Roger Pineau and John Costello.

Nota bene, much of the material in this volume was relatively new due to the fact that many secrets were finally revealed after decades of secrecy.

For one of the iconic works in this genre see William Stevenson's A Man Called Intrepid, which first pierced the veil of secrecy of Britain's code breaking in 1976, three whole decades after the war ended. Note that it wasn't until 2012 that Alan Turing was fully recognized for that effort, albeit that was because of his homosexuality. The Brits always keep their hand well hidden, always have. (Witness Romney's recent diplomatic faux pas of announcing to the world that he met with MI6, a government agency that, although probably existed during WW II, wasn't acknowledged until the 90's. That didn't stop Ian Fleming from writing fiction about James Bond inspired by the intelligence work Fleming did during WW II. What branch? Maybe Intrepid knows. Recommended read.

There are many unanswered questions and many things historians may never know but that doesn't give people the right to make shit up. There is no evidence at all that Roosevelt knew anything about Pearl. In fact, there is a significant trail of evidence that the USA was caught off guard by merely looking in the wrong direction (Philippines and Far East rather than Hawaii).

I hope I've whet your whistle for the real shit instead of conspiracy theories. History is always far more interesting than made-up speculations. The difference is that one has historic accounts, the other has only the speculation, usually documented solely on the Internet by people who haven't actually delved into the subject.

I hope you get the bug, as I did. I also recommend Churchill's history, at least as a start. It's encyclopediac, six volumes, out of date, but beautifully written and worth reading.
