(11,415 posts)I'm with him and in a free society we must speak out with him. Roger Waters is awake. Why can't we all be?

Granted, I also wish DG would give up trying to hide from the fact his songwriting ability is dead and get back with Roger, but those days are done. RW is showing who the "voice" of PF really was all along.

I'd kill to see them play together. Seen them both separately, but it's not the same. Yes, Roger was a complete asshole at times, but I think he's seen the error of his ways.
However, I've listened to Waters' solo work and he needs Gilmour as much as Gilmour needs him. The music pales compared to anything he did in Pink Floyd. The sound was nothing without Gilmour and it's obvious because it became that way after Gilmour joined the band and Barrett lost his mind. The later Floyd work without Waters was still great, as was much of the solo stuff from David Gilmour. But yeah, the guy admits himself he isn't good with lyrics.

(51,627 posts)Any Floyd fan would know that the band has always been political from Dark Side...to present. Who would spend ALOT of money to see a show and then walk out? Obviously none of his real fans did this. Probably a few red necks who think they're cool and go to see the show and then realize Roger doesn't like oppressive governments, big business, controlling religions, etc. and leave. Good riddence. Let his real fans enjoy the show. I know I always have. And I just got his new album for my birthday! It's pure Roger I am happy to say.

Nice work Rodger Waters. It has been 40 yrs. since Animals came out in '77, and now millions more can see your timeless art show, down to the bone, the truth.

(6,023 posts)Will be hitting the next one for sure. The Wall was unbelievable to see live, and more power to Roger for tearing into the traitor in chief.
