I found listening to this fascinating and ....I guess depressing. How can this country have gone from Obama and Biden in the White House to what we have now. Intelligence, reason, passion, caring, vision-all traded for what? Well listen up and don't let my pining for better days spoil what is a great interview by Terry Gross.....

1. 'Biden remarked on how, during his time in the Senate, he witnessed the decline

of collegiality and bipartisanship. "We continued to dumb down American politics, and decided that the way to win was to denigrate the institutions and individuals," he says. "That became the pattern ... and I thought it was disastrous."'

2. He Says An Awful Lot....

in this discussion. That is one of the more striking things. I also thought his description of the responses from Republicans about the nomination of Garland- acknowledging they were wrong but scared of Koch Brothers funded challenges. Obama stopping him from going after a congress member he felt was disrespectful to the President. The response to Obama's election by the Republicans that their mission was to block everything he was going to do and make sure he would be a one term president.....no to mention his take on Trump. All really interesting stuff.
