(5,272 posts)Sanders posters honest, and I mean that sincerely, but sometimes your critiques seem a little petty.

This is a good case in point. While other Democratic Senators have issued press releases on this issue a week or more ago, I don't think any have felt the need to go on a Sunday morning talk show to express their opinions.
Before anyone alerts this for "bashing" him, it has been discussed over and over again in DU how he has authored virtually no legislation that has come out of Committee, but he's "co-sponsored" hundreds of bills written by other Representative and Senators.

(5,272 posts)particularly when Sanders had no particular visibility, that the kind of legislation Sanders would pen would get through committee. He has focused a lot of his efforts differently, and he has pushed for amendments to bills that already had support, to make them better, or to get rid of egregious elements. That makes sense to me.
Just because he was talking about this issue on TV the other day, doesn't mean he wasn't talking about it previously, and I'm pretty sure I remember that in-fact he has been raising this issue. The point doesn't have to be that Sanders is our lone champion fighting for this stuff. Its just that he's on the right page, adding his voice to those who find the Republican process here despicable, and he's getting that message out there. Apparently the point has to be for you, no matter how exaggerated or inaccurate, that he's a Jonny come lately to this and swooping in to take credit. That makes no sense to me.

Your message was fair, honest, reasonable, factual and clearly stated.

(1,201 posts)He doesn't care about taking credit. He just wonts to get the job done said a republican who worked with him on a bill. Sanders has always been a man of the people. His critics here dislike him because he dared to challenge Clinton which is why their criticisms are usually so petty. The man made income inequality a main stream issue along with single payer and free higher education and can be trusted to always stand for these issues no matter the outside influences. He showed the dem party they don't need to rely on Wal street lobbyists or Banksters for financial support. Rely on the people by standing for what the people want as shown by poll after poll.
