Not meant as an excuse. There were two stories here just yesterday about no Repub communication people willing to step into any role in his WH. "Career suicide" the one story quoted. The other one was about no one willing to sign on for any position- from State to DoJ.

And I say that because swamps are usually independent eco-systems by themselves. It may have taken millions of years for a given swamp to reach a point of stability between real estate and residents. While WE might hold gators 'n snakes 'n leeches in low regard, they've learned to cope with one another thru the eons. As such, they're remarkably smarter "bodies" than the two houses of Congress. If tRump were to waddle into the morass, the rightful tenants would be justified in reducing him to just another meal.
