Compare that to Trump's "American Carnage" speech.

Actually, Macron's biggest challenge was probably beating the Russian hackers, who were probably a much more formidable opponent than Le Pen herself. The cleverness of his campaign's cyber wizard in outwitting the Russians was brilliant! Other than that, Macron probably won because:

1) The French were duly warned, and hip to the possibility of Russian cyber-attacks by what happened to our election.
2) The French people are probably more intelligent and better educated than us (that's not saying much).
3) The French elect their president by popular vote, NOT by a crazy, voodoo system like our Electoral College. Far from safequarding our democracy and our electoral process, the Electoral College has only made vote stealing and suppression, crooked electoral politics at the state level, and crafty upsets and election stealing a lot more easier for Republican politicians and their dubious dark money allies. I'm sure that the Russian hackers faced a task that was infinitely more difficult in hacking the French election than they did with our own.

It's interesting that Macron got virtually no press coverage here in the US, whereas Marine Le Pen, an ally to both Trump and Putin, got quite a bit of coverage. From all the coverage that Le Pen got from the American press, it's a big surprise that she didn't win.
