6. But the HOW is the important bit. Democrats must be seen to stand up for what is right. Make

McConnell do what he has to, to get Gorsuch through. For Democrats to make it easy will only encourage McConnell further, in other areas.

9. I did not make self clear. My criticism is of Matthews character, not his current message

He has years of cowardly commentary behind him. He is passionately liberal now--but blows hot and cold depending on which way the political wind is blowing and who is running the outfit he works for. Imo, Matthews has done a lot of damage over the years, or at least from 2000 when I had first wasted my time watching his show.

Matthews has helped make the Republican Party what it has become --starting at least from the days Jack Welch of GE infamy, ran NBC and interfered in the newsroom to back Republicans-Matthews did not resist, he obeyed Welch. (Welch was an outspoken supporter of Trump in 2016).

Of course Democrats should do everything possible to resist this appointment by a fake president and send out every Mayday signal possible.
