There is much more to talk about those days back in history. There were no fast transportation and communication systems. It took weeks or months for people or information to travel across the country. But people wanted democracy. Solution: representative democracy. People far away from Washington D.C. elected some one to go and stay in Washington to be certain that the people's interests were defended. (Maybe, I don't know, if the the person chosen to do this job used this power to become rich and powerful, the people will hang him or shoot him next time he returns home.) that is why the people of USA don't vote directly for the president. They vote for a delegate that in turn vote for the president (not necessarily the one they were told to vote for). This is not real democracy, but it is the closest they can have in those days.
The 21st. century is ready for direct democracy. The new technologies can make it possible. Now people can vote directly using Internet. People can summit legislation and vote for legislation directly. There is no need for representation. Most representation today are really obstacles in some cases and contrary to the peoples interests on most occasions. What do you think?

But you are not just talking about changing the way we vote; you are talking about a revolution.....

Yummy !!!

Anyways, the FPTB (Financial Powers That Be) would never allow it.

Love the Idea, though.

Maybe we could give it a try when this unsustainable socio-economic system we have collapses from lack of regulation....

What is this stupid "Electoral College" that nullfies my DC vote? If you don't live in a "swing state" it is almost like you might as well just stay home, because your vote at the Federal level doesn't really matter (except local offices like the city council).
