I can remember sitting and watching the World Series with my late father and us rooting for the Pirates. My late father told me with Pittsburgh trailing 3-1 that they'd STILL win. He was so confident that he bet $500.00, and his buddies were laughing at him (My late Mom wasn't happy at all with him). His buddies weren't laughing after he picked up his winnings. I asked him how he knew and he knew for "real," and said he saw Omar Moreno's wife blowing her whistle and saying that they'd come back to win the World Series. The interviewer told her that you're down 3-1, and my Dad said she looked at the interviewer very sternly and said I had a dream about it, and told the other ladies on the team we'd be down 3-1 before the series started, but that we'd still win the series. If she was telling the truth about her "dream," I'd love to find her and ask her for some lotto numbers
Finally, I never really found out how much Dad won, but Mom got a new wardrobe, they got the outside of their house painted, their back/front lawns re-dug and re-sodded, and new paint job for their 1975 Chevy station wagon (That car lasted into the late 1980's. Dad was a Grade A mechanic, and extremely meticulous/gifted with car upkeep). He could afford to do those things for him & Mom anyway, but as dad used to say, if you ever get free money save it or do something worthwhile with it. HE DID.
