DHS Secretary Blasts GOP Rep For Peddling Bachmann's Anti-Muslim Conspiracy Theories

&feature=youtu.be

Gohmert asked Napolitano about his previous request for information on accusations made by all the usual Isamophobic bloggers that Elibiary leaked classified information to the media. Napolitano called Gohmert’s claim “inaccurate,” adding, “What bothers me, quite frankly, are the allegations that are made against anyone that happens to be Muslim”:

Rep. Gohmert Questions DHS

The comments show what we're dealing with here, all the 'isms' and conspiracy talk. And then another link to Gohmert's website, this is real wing nut terrority:

http://www.jihadwatch.org/2011/11/alleged-leaker-mohamed-elibiary-the-only-dhs-adviser-given-access-to-sensitive-law-enforcement-datab.html

How can we ever have a dialogue with people that think like this? Is there any way of satisfying them, to get them out of this reactive mode?

I've lived a long time and never seen such actively hostile, closed minds. These people don't know what they're getting into.

You can't. All you can do is vote them out.

This is the kind of crap you would expect in a city council meeting.

Congressional jerkoff. He has serious issues that would be best addressed by a psychiatrist. I suggest shock treatments or a sucker punch.

Wingnuts that the people don't want him in office.
The problem is gerrymandering and a stupified voter block that believes in conspiracy theories and religion as their view of reality and vote that way. This is the issue that comes up repeatedly. The larger problem is lack of civics, logic and principles being taught and also a lack of boundaries on the part of these people.

There is a reason Democrats as one party member said, are expected to act as 'a bunch of pussycats' and be forgiving, because that's a psychologically healthy thing to do in an institution that determines so many life and death matters. Acting out of respect for other human beings is part of a belief in equality.

If you believe in equality in all things, you don't go down the rabbit hole from a belief that someone else is intrinsically evil. When I read snarks at Obama or the Democrats dripping with disdain, I know the person has determined that they do not deserve the benefit of the doubt, which is what Bachmann and Goumert have pre-determined about Muslims. Religion is the reason or else they are simply demagogues playing on their benighted voters prejudices.

Threats of violence or physical torture are the opposite of that, but I understand the frustration of dealing with such people. And nothing in my post was directed as a complaint at you personally. You just gave me a chance to work some of this out myself.

Joseph McCarthy, in an updated documentary, asking people if they had ever been a member of the Communist Party. But hey, this guy is a Republican ...He's probably a right winger, and Like Bachmann, probably sees Jihadists with TNT strapped to their belts, jumping out of every nook, cranny and corner of Washington DC.

He wouldn't even listen to the chairman who kept advising him to let the DHS head answer the question. He wanted help in brow beating her, which he didn't get and it seemed to make him very angry. This dude has some serious power issues.

population who's voices have been diluted by Tom Delay's re-districting. If we could ever get some support from the DNC, WE COULD FLIP THIS STATE! I am tired of these stupid, partisan, red neck hacks making fools of us! We are not all like that, and I hope most of my fellow members of DU will keep that in mind. I also get tired of people making statements like, "Texas should secede" or "give Texas back to Mexico!" Way to go Napolitano!
