The 2004 concert of CANDIDE was shockingly prescient. During "Auto-da-fé", our favorite short-fingered vulgarian was parodied as a vindictive ruler deciding the fate of political prisoners. CANDIDE is a picaresque comic operetta where characters keep finding it harder to remember that everything that happens is for the best because they live in the best of all possible worlds.
