That one quote early in his tenure about "who am I" was pleasant, but since then he has shown repeatedly that he continues the line of thinking that started with Pope John Paul II regarding gays, lesbians, bisexuals and especially transgender people. He is every bit as vile on that score as the conservative Christians and the GOP.

Now, regarding women...Pope Francis again carries on the fine tradition of misogyny and institutionalized oppression of women. Again, not unlike a certain political party and candidate...

The rest is either about the environment or money. While I am heartened by his stance on protecting the environment, it is important to remember that the Catholic church is the most wealthy organization on the planet, with the greatest land holdings. And they continue to add to that wealth at an startling rate with ventures into capitalism such as owning 1 in 6 American hospital beds. Beds, I might add, for which the care decisions are made by Bishops, not AMA best medical practices.
