Donald Trump surrogates/sycophants perform quite nicely in this episode of the "Twilight Zone." Just substitute Mr. Trump for Anthony and you will get the picture.
The children and adults, including his own parents, tiptoe nervously around him, constantly telling him how everything he does is "good," since displeasing him can get them wished away into the cornfield from which there is no return. At one point, a dog is heard barking angrily. Anthony thinks the dog is "bad" and doesn't "like [him] at all," and wishes it into the cornfield. His father and mother are horrified, but they dare not show it.

And that was a good thing you said. A very good thing!

Here's the intro, the only part she appears in. (She doesn't live long enough for another scene.)

(260 posts)The short-lived Twilight Zone reboot from last decade made a sequel to this episode. Bill Mumy and Cloris Leachman reprise their role forty years later, and Mumy's real daughter plays his character's daughter who has the same powers.
That being said, the original episode is a great allegory for what it's like to live in a place controlled by a childish dictator who can do anything he wants with no repercussions. Think North Korea under the Kims. Trump is very similar. He keeps losing in the debates because he's actually being questioned and challenged by people who don't answer to him, something he has rarely experienced.
