but I think Ann Coulter was also scheduled on this show, and it is the reason I don't watch even though I have HBO.

Demand for their labor is why they come. If the food, service, and construction industries didn't hire them they wouldn't be here.

We could stop the hiring of immigrants right now if we wanted, by enforcing labor laws. But that would cost the bottom line of businesses that profit from cheap labor.

Andrew Sullivan is an ass in general, and he showed why last night.

Instead Sullivan and Kerry were allowed to hijack a lot of the time and attack democrats without Bernie being allowed to respond.

Immigration has always been an issue in America, but only if you look different from the majority. Republcans like open borders so they have cheap labor, but talk tough about it. The number of deportations is up and illegal immigration is down.

To answer Kery and why democrats don't talk about certain things, it is too hard to cut through the noise.

He was pretty disappointing--devoid of ideas himself, he seemed to find raising taxes on the very rich objectionable, and apparently he's been in China, if he was unaware of ideas Bernie put forward in his campaign, about "ideas" of how to spend that money. It was absurd for him to suggest otherwise, and a good reason we lose sometimes.

Here's an idea. With continued insistence of the PTB on trade agreements and globalization, why not a basic minimum income for everyone. I do think we need new ideas like this one. Will the sort of Democrats that are around now, actually be liberal, open-minded, and well-thinking enough to see the coming fall? I doubt it.

on one point for sure, trump has shown how stupid a lot of americans are. Kerry with his "a lot of supporters of the trumpenfuhrer are good people" is part of the problem in enabling these clowns to feel good about themselvrs. How can they be good people if they don't care that they are voting for a racist, sexist, mysogynist? And coulter with her "let's talk about issues" meme. Her boy has no plan to address the issues except to give billions more to billionaires. And people buy her books,? I double down on a good number of americans are stupid and racist. Sad in a so called democracy. I was truly disgusted. The libertarian was an idiot. The only bright spots were the sanity and truth put forth by the author Rebecca Traister and Bernie Sanders otherwise the others as a reflection of amerikkkan thought, including kerry, was truly a warning of how ugly things will be IF by rigged election, ALA w2000w, the new fuhrer of the american nazi party somehow, while swimming around in amerikkkas sewers, ends up crawling out of the toilet at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

Hillary is the only sane choice in an america going to the dogs. But who said .........aahhh never mind. Just the numbers of trump backers, "his base" has proven to me just how pervasive racism is in this country. I knew it all along but now I and every AA and decent brown skinned human has OPEN proof of the "make amerikkka white again" crowd numbers who are waiting in the wings to start lynching, openly, again.

at all. What was that all about? He looked like he had words with Bill beforehand and was very stoned-faced. (no pun intended) He looked like he was trying to keep from showing anger or disgust...? Anybody else catch that?

Maybe the combination of loud mouth babbler Sullivan and nonsense, sanctimony spewing Kerry(essentially the Democratic opposite of Bernie) was just more than even Bernie could take. Even Maher was a jerk, again with the ficticious 45% Maher claimed last night of Berners not supporting Hillary...such a waste of Bernie airtime. And, of course, no discussion pursued over the Ca Proposition to reign in PHARMA $ that Bernie was there to support.

Later on the discussion (notably AFTER Bernie, who actually could deliver some real insight, was off) on TPP was just plain ignorant. Maher's two biggest gaps of knowledge (and for which he seems almost obstinate to remain uninformed) are Soc Security and TPP. Maher has never, ever mentioned the ISDS corporate coup d'etat that is TPP.

even comment on this. The last several times I made comments here, I was lambasted by several people. And instead of being given credit for supporting HRC in this clip, he's criticized by many in here. It's sickening, some of the comments I read here. Time to go back to my regular site.

I thought Bill's guests, and Bill himself, were quite disrespectful of Sanders, not allowing him to finish his comments, talking over him, yelling. It was pathetic, especially the little Johnson supporter on the end, who just would not shut up long enough for Sanders to speak. No wonder Sanders vacated before the overtime segment.
