Stay off I95 in rush hour. It's anarchy. So many people down there have no clue about the proper use of the left lane, or how to drive in general.

This is my biggest pet peeve.

but instead start decelerating before they've reached it, in the regular traffic lane.

5. On the other hand, there are those who seem to think the left lane is the speeding lane...

The left lane is also for those who are going to make a left turn. I have been in the left lane preparing for a left turn up ahead, going five miles over the speed limit (sixty-five) just to keep from getting run over and had people practically blow my doors off passing on the right.

Some idiot in the Florida legislature pushed for three years and fianlly got a law passed that it is illegal to go speep limit in the left lane if some idiot behind you wants to anything over the speed limit. So the person obeying the speed laws can get a ticket for obeying the law. Begs the question, why post speed limits at all? Or maybe they should just be consiered "advisory" and one could only be ticketed if one caused a speed related accident.

p*sses me off when people see you coming and cut in front of you and slow down to turn left 5 miles up the road!

i ALWAYS get out of the way if i see someone coming up behind me who is going faster than i am. (let them get the ticket. :headbang i can always get back into the left lane after they have passed.

one thing i can say for some of the red states, they are polite drivers.

complaint.

If you are speeding, as far as I'm concerned, you have no right to complain.

And who said anything about cutting someone off to make a left turn five miles ahead? Not me. (on edit: perhaps you missread my post. I said I was going five miles over the speed limit, not that I was in the turn lane five miles ahead of my left turn....)

I make sure I'm in the left lane at least a mile ahead simply because traffic can be really heavy and dangerous, and while that used to be just during cerain periods of the day, any more it all day. Weaving in and out of traffic to accommodate speeders only makes it more likely that I'll have an accident. BTW, that weaving in and out of traffic is a sign of an aggressive driver.

I just don't see why careful courteous drivers should have to risk their own safty to avoid inconveniencing reckless, careless speeders who are are doing 75 to 80 mph in a 55 mph zone.
