During an interview with CNNs Anderson Cooper, Kellyanne Conway tried her hardest to defend alleged unregistered sex offender Donald Trump. Unfortunately, its hard to defend the indefensible, and Conway just like her candidate during the second presidential debate was no match for Cooper.
Taking a page from alleged sex offender Donald Trumps book, Conway tried to argue that Bill Clinton has said and done far worse things than Trump described in the audio that was leaked late last week. First, Conway listed Clintons affair with Monica Lewinsky while he was still in office. Then, after naming other indiscretions, she got to the civil lawsuit that Clinton settled with Paula Jones in 1998. Conway argued that Clintons $850,000 settlement was proof that the former president was guilty.
Now, the problem with Conways argument is not necessarily her claim that settlement implies guilt. The problem, instead, is the double standard she created with her statement, which Cooper caught on to immediately. Cooper said:
Your candidate has settled numerous lawsuits without admitting any guilt on a whole number of things.

(70,127 posts)how does it make him a good candidate if he is doing the same things that bill did, and they want to fry bill in hot oil?
yeah, sure, i am the same as the most vile man (to them) ever to occupy the white house?
how is it better to have drumph as president to "keep bill clinton from getting back in the white house"?

Bill's actions, those many years ago, were consensual while as yet unregistered sex offender Dumpf's words joked about non-consensuality. And of course his actions which are being revealed now.
But the dumpsketeers won't acknowledge the accusations against dumpf, and ignore or dismiss or just don't understand the difference between consent and force against the unwilling.

This nasty campaign seems to have reawakened him but he's not in Olbermann's class, nor Joy Reid's.
He did the nation a service by forcing Trump to answer his question about sexual harassment (Trump lied), and this time by insisting on pointing out the illogical stance to Conway of Trump's bashing of Bill Clinton's sexual abuses when he's accused of the same types of things.

Dear Donald, Once Upon A Time, we, as voters, had a soul. We didn't let politicians disrespect soldiers, women, religions, unions, laborers or students. Yes, we may have been duped a little, but dupe me once shame on me, dupe us now Shame on YOU! (or maybe it should be," won't get duped again" Well Shame on you no matter what....Cuz we see you clearly Donald.

Does he have a history of cheating. Yes. However, a) it was 20-30 years ago, b) apparently he has 'outgrown it', c) Hillary didn't cheat. As to the claim that Hillary hired a private detective, well seems to me that if a wife finds out that there is a woman claiming that her husband has been cheating on her, hiring a PI to get some answers is a reasonable stop. And not being 'nice' to the accuser and maybe calling her names is also a reasonable reaction. If someone told me that my spouse was cheating on me, I would probably have a few choice epithets for both my spouse and the 'other'.
