Running of the Bids: Watch the Alabama pledge class sprint to their new sororities on Bid Day

Nearly 2,500 women made a dash from a parking deck to their new sororities during Alabama sorority recruitment Bid Day on Saturday.

Watch the women run, scream and celebrate on the University of Alabama campus.

On a Saturday, the young women who had gone out for rush (look it up) received their bids, notices that a particular sorority wanted them to pledge. Popular girls got several bids from different sororities.
That evening they'd walk down Sorority Row, en masse.
A girl would turn in at one of the sororities indicating she had chosen that one. All the members in the front yard and on the front porch would squeal with delight and welcome her.

We sent a dozen black roses to each sorority with a 'condolences' card.

Having never attended a 4 year college, I didn't know what a bid day was.

But yes, the future is our kids, and especially young women. Great that so many are motivated to get an education and work to drive their own futures.

And there really seems to be a large resurgence in the people who are proud of being mean. I think they are mostly just scared, or have no hope. Regardless, could be dangerous.

I saw it back in the 80s, as I recall, but this seems like a harsher update.

There are just a handful of black fraternities and sororities. There's very little integration within the individual fraternities and sororities, which is very sad. Not much can be done about it either since they're private organizations.

At most schools, and especially at U of Alabama, the greek system wields a ton of power.

But what does this have to with Trump? Are these young ladies running away from him to join Hillary?

Even if this is a Southern thing, I think Trump will lose a few southern states.

One need not raise inquiries as to 'where the white women at' from this point hence.

Rowwwwl... but still.

They don't seem to have a problem watching black men working in a field for no pay down there... a football field.
