Pls tell me what public radio stations you listen to...

I used to listen to npr (New York) on my computer; they changed something and my computer can't get them anymore.
I can however get for ex. Wisconsin Public Radio which ain't bad.

I'm looking for a news station - or mostly news - non-commercial, just to have a voice on in the background, while I do whatever I do around the apartment, not something I'm going to necessarily listen close to.

npr for ex was not exactly my cup of tea, but for general news, for 'public interest' stories, I thot they were pretty good.

thanks

on freespeech.org -- https://www.freespeech.org/ - radio shows on tv

Edit to add: Steph is on 6AM pacific, 9AM eastern tme - Thom 9AM pacific, Noon Eastern

No commercials - good lefty stuff. Stephy has previous recordings fill in the commercial spots when the radio goes to commercial, Thom does special stuff just for freespeech listeners.

sometimes I have trouble with the connection but if I refresh it a couple of times it usually holds.

If you want public radio, Iowa's and Minnesota's are both very good. I just don't care much for NPR itself anymore - tries too hard to be 'neutral' at the cost of reality.

Here are a couple of links - iowa - http://iowapublicradio.org/#stream/0
Minnesota- http://www.mprnews.org/ listen button on the right @ 1/3rd down from the top

I listen to Dem Now every day, but i'm not looking for lefty radio.

i get enough lefty news from all my facebook sources, and I don't want to listen to something that is going to make me mad.
(or madder

just a voice in the background.
i do agree about npr- they are supposedly 'middle-of the-road' .
to me they are right-of-center.
sometimes, say if it is about Cuba or Venezuela, I have to turn them off.
but when they are just talking about general things, I can listen.

and I like the features like - forget the name-- radio Moth hour? those..

i will ck these links.
thanks.
