Where are they now? Where are their successors? Obama has tried, but the haters have pretty much drowned him out.
And now there is Trump.

(7,888 posts)Faygo Kid, I spent my later school days in Michigan. It's easy to remember that first taste of Faygo RocknRye, Root Beer, Grapefruit, Lemon Lime and Orange. "Which way did he go?" Are they still in business? I'll look it up.
Now, for what I find most distressing in my childhood. The assassination of President Kennedy, Martin Luther King, Malcolm X and the worst loss of all, the murder of Robert Fitzgerald Kennedy. As I recall, my parents were most distrubed by the Nixon and J. Edgar Hoover repuglican character assassination of all these leaders. Before the first death we were all concerned that the GOP political rhetroic had gone to far.

(9,895 posts)The direction of the world was changed so viscously in 1968 between April 4th and June 6th, two men of peace and vision and hope for a better United States gunned down in cold blood. Memphis and Los Angeles. South and West. All of us lost so much - those who were alive at the time and all of us who have come since - progress and hope were victims too.
The actions of Donald Trump over the past 18 months have been reprehensible and should require everyone to recoil in abject horror from him and his messages of hate and division. The real tragedy now is that so many are being conned by Trump, being used and having their very real and legitimate fears and angers used to fuel a movement that will cut them off at the knees and discard them the second the ballots are counted.
RFK and MLK were great men.
DJT is a worthless, petty, piece of shit.
That should be the LAST time anyone has to reference those men in the same thought.
