Some described it as a small group of disruptors, but that's pretty darned loud.

and turned it off after about an hour.

Every speaker heckled, booed, jeered, insulted, drowned out.

I understand the Bernie supporters being frustrated.

My man in 1968 was Robert Kennedy and "they" shot that man to death the same night he clinched the nomination.

So I went out and protested. Abby Hoffman was my particular hero because he was funny, but all of the Chicago 7 I though were great. So the Convention exploded in the face of the Democrats, big public debacle, and in the end the Democrats lost the election.

The punch line? We destroyed the folks who gave us the Civil Rights Act, The Voting Rights Act, Medicare, Medicaid, unemployment insurance, education investment, infrastructure investment, environmental protection, and yes, the Viet Nam War.

We replaced that government with Richard Nixon, who gave us The Southern Strategy, The Enemies List, CREEP, COINTEL, dirty tricks, and ramped up the Viet Nam War to a level we never imagined in our worst nightmares.

Lesson learned: The lesser of two evils is REALLY the lesser of two evils.
