Time lapses of the evolution of a strong microburst (from a severe warned stormed) captured from Phoenix Sky Harbor international airport. The microburst happened just south of the airport in South Phoenix / Foothills area. Heavy rain from this storm eventually promoted a flash flood warning from the Phoenix National Weather Service.

As thunderstorms roiled across the Phoenix landscape on Monday night, this incredible microburst came crashing down from the sky in a blast of rain, hail and wind.
Jerry Ferguson, a helicopter reporter, took this incredible photo of the microburst during his flight.

we have several different ones, including the DFW one, modeled in our sims. They make the pilots sweat, and they know they are in a sim.

That's just a little larger in diameter than one my daughter took a picture of last August, which was printed in the West Valley (AZ) Independent in October or so.
