God bless this officer for speaking out. She took the oath and meant it.

with his girlfriend at the wheel and daughter in back seat all with seat belts on should bve considered murder. If they had been white, cop would never even have drawn his weapon. Why would cop just assume threat. That cop has no business being on the force if his threat assessment skills are that poor, and he is that trigger happy. It just makes me sick to be a white man whose hands are tied to prevent this obvious injustice. Just pathetic. Any cop who knows of another cop being racist or has criminal intent and says nothing is just as rotten as the dirty cop whose behavior is criminal. They cannot look the other way and then call themselves good cops. Take their guns away. Tazers only.

She gives a boundary walking speech that is so powerful. (Boundary walking - recognizes the realities of the dual parts of her life - as an African American woman, and as a committed police officer who swore an oath to serve.) If this was a concert that I was attending, I would be standing and flicking a lighter in appreciation (generational thing - signaling great appreciation.)
