Which is why I can't consciously cast a vote for someone I vehemently disagree with any longer.

Funny how when one person says something it's bad

but when another person says exactly the same thing, it's great

Or maybe it's not so dumb as it is riddled with corruption and special gifts from the fossil fuel industry. All of the above, but only half the story on each one is revealed. "Clean coal technology" is a lie. Sure, fracking may give us enough natural gas to last another hundred years - but will ruin our environment and drinking water in only a few years, and we'll poison ourselves into extinction long before we can get all of it out of the ground. And, trying to be all things to all people, Obama turns around and tries to move forward with clean energy as well. We need decisiveness and direction in our energy policy, not disarray and disorder.

and what that power can do. We have documents of a BP plant that made 1 billion a year in PROFIT every year and they were cutting back on the toilet paper and the number of times they mowed the grass to maximized more! This is the plant they blew up cutting corners 5 years BEORE the blew up the Deepwater Horizon by cutting corners. They were still on probation when the Deepwater Horizon blew up. We showed Eric Holder the BP documents, including the one where they chose the budget proposal where the profits were highest, but would only kill one or two workers. The estimate was off and they killed 15 and injured around 6,000!

They only care about money, period! They bend everything to their will! The really scary thing is they aren't the only industry like this.

The way we run our elections guarantees they get what they want. Obama has been great for the markets, and a whole lot better than the Republicans, but he still has to carry TPTB's water! As long as they can buy our politicians and control our media, they are not "OURS" anymore.

If anyone's noticed, coal is on life support, the oil industry is now on a downward spiral, gas is starting to follow.

Renewables are exploding at a pace no one would have predicted even a few years ago.
Electric cars, since the intro of the Tesla 3, look like they will be coming on line far faster than anyone would have thought even 6 months ago.

Obama took a hit, for instance, when he allowed Shell's exploratory drilling in the Arctic last year - but he knew the tremendous difficulties of that effort, and bet that oil prices would stay far to low to support production in remote areas.
Shell failed, lost billions in the effort.

Now, most, if not all, of the Oil majors have pulled out of the arctic, even leaving billions of dollars in lease payments on the table.

Even the Financial Times has written recently that "..The international objective of holding the increase in global temperatures to “well below” 2C, agreed at the Paris climate talks last year, implies the obsolescence of all fossil fuel production within the next few decades. The oil companies have not yet reconciled themselves to quite what this means."

read that quote a few times, consider the source, and let it sink in.

Meanwhile, even the Saudis are looking at the end of oil in the relative near term, and are planning to move their economy away from oil dependence by 2030.

Clearly we have a problem, clearly there has been terrible damage done. But it's exactly this kind of undermining of the President that brought us the electoral disaster of 2010, subsequent gerrymandering, and a congress ruled by a mob of fringe nutjobs.

If we are going to confront and defeat the most powerful economic and political monster ever created by man, we need to stay together, not undermine the President who has been working against overwhelming political odds since he was elected.
