The Pres. was having a good laugh at the Bern's expense. It was a ROAST, not a campaign blurb.
I guess this escapes some people:

(41,140 posts)Sisyphus, in Greek mythology, the cunning king of Corinth who was punished in Hades by having repeatedly to roll a huge stone up a hill only to have it roll down again as soon as he had brought it to the summit. ..Sisyphus was, in fact, like Autolycus and Prometheus, a widely popular figure of folklorethe trickster, or master thief. Clearly, he is everlastingly punished in Hades as the penalty for cheating Death; but why he is set to roll a great stone incessantly is a puzzle to which no convincing answer has yet been given. It appears to belong with other Greek imaginings of the world of the dead as the scene of fruitless labours.

(41,140 posts)President Obama fired off jokes at the expense of Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, CNN and other Washington establishment figures Saturday night, at his final White House Correspondents Dinner.
Below is the full transcript of his remarks, as provided by the White House:
(Entrance music: When Im Gone by Anna Kendrick.)
THE PRESIDENT: You cant say it, but you know its true. (Laughter.)
Good evening, everybody. It is an honor to be here at my last and perhaps the last White House Correspondents Dinner. (Laughter and applause.)
You all look great. The end of the Republic has never looked better. (Laughter and applause.)
I do apologize I know I was a little late tonight. I was running on C.P.T.
(laughter) which stands for jokes that white people should not make. (Laughter and applause.) Its a tip for you, Jeff. (Laughter.)
Anyway, here we are. My eighth and final appearance at this unique event. (Laughter.) And I am excited. If this material works well, Im going to use it at Goldman Sachs next year. (Laughter and applause.) Earn me some serious Tubmans. Thats right. (Laughter and applause.)
My brilliant and beautiful wife, Michelle, is here tonight. (Applause.) She looks so happy to be here. (Laughter.) Thats called practice its like learning to do three-minute planks. (Laughter.) She makes it look easy now. (Laughter.)
Next year at this time, someone else will be standing here in this very spot, and its anyones guess who she will be. (Laughter and applause.) But standing here, I cant help but be reflective, a little sentimental. Eight years ago, I said it was time to change the tone of our politics. In hindsight, I clearly should have been more specific. (Laughter.)
Eight years ago, I was a young man, full of idealism and vigor, and look at me now. (Laughter.) I am gray and grizzled, just counting down the days til my death panel. (Laughter and applause.) Hillary once questioned whether Id be ready for a 3 a.m. phone call now Im awake anyway because Ive got to go to the bathroom. (Laughter and applause.) Im up.
In fact, somebody recently said to me, Mr. President, you are so yesterday; Justin Trudeau has completely replaced you hes so handsome, hes so charming, hes the future. And I said, Justin, just give it a rest. (Laughter and applause.) I resented that. (Laughter.)
Meanwhile, Michelle has not aged a day. (Applause.) The only way you can date her in photos is by looking at me. (Laughter.) Take a look.
Here we are in 2008. (Slide is shown.)

(12,233 posts)At least not most women. First, it's a cacophonous word, so it makes people think "nasty" of the word. Its meant in a demeaning manner to offend women when they are defined by that word.
Say her laugh seems bitter. Say her laugh annoys you. There's not much people can do to change their voice or a laugh that they have had for years... Even maniacal chuckle sounds better than the word "cackle".

He is a millionaire and has been for years. His real estate tax deductions alone show he has multiple valuable properties--that is why he dragged his feet to turn over his full 2014 returns showing his deductions, and still has not turned over his 2015 returns nor any other year but 2014.
I remember when Sanders supporters bragged about how he flew coach. But then he flew on a private chartered Boeing 767 with his wife and 10 relatives on a Roman holiday -- using campaign cash. Who among "us" would be able to do that?

(4,532 posts)It was the White House correspondents dinner. The "Aunt Hillary" thing sarcasm to. And, I've bad news for you, "Next year someone else will be up here and you can guess who she will be." was also sarcastic.
SunSeeker
(51,559 posts)He did deliver some serious lines when discussing journalists who were honored that night. When going for laughs, he used many types of humor, not just sarcasm. His zinger about "whoever she may be" was a shot at the hopeless GOP candidates (and Sanders).
liberalnarb
(4,532 posts)But the "whoever she may be." was a shot at the hopeless gop candidates, not Sanders. She is the frontrunner. Most people (including the President) assume that the Dem Nominee will win. It was a joke. Hillary supporters took it as a pat on the back, it wasn't.
