(54,068 posts)If you die fighting, they teach, you don't need to cleanse the body. So even by the crazy dumbass standards of terrorists, this is a lame, ineffective idea.
The insult of just suggesting this alone will probably help seal the deal on recruiting a few more terrorists. So, sorry, but you can't stupid your way into victory in the war against terrorism. They're not vampires and pig's blood isn't their garlic.

We're not going to dip bullets in pigs blood but then again, why not think we might?

The immediate cause of the Indian Revolt of 1857 was a seemingly minor change in the weapons used by the British East India Company's troops. The East India Company upgraded to the new Pattern 1853 Enfield rifle, which used greased paper cartridges. In order to open the cartridges and load the rifles, sepoys had to bite into the paper and tear it with their teeth.
Rumors began in 1856 that the grease on the cartridges was made of a mixture of beef tallow and pork lard; eating cows, of course, is forbidden in Hinduism, while consumption of pork is haram in Islam.
This would lead to massive anger across all of Islam, making any solution much more difficult if not impossible.

While it would be ridiculous to think we actually WOULD dip bullets in pigs blood, the psychological effect might be something that would be valuable

Belief in the efficacy of dipping your projectiles in pig's blood is about as useful as Allied WWII commanders believing that all Japanese troops had buck teeth and wore thick round glasses.

In WW2 the effort was to build morale in our soldiers. This idea is to affect the morale of the enemy

(54,068 posts)This is a monotheistic religion with a theology and rational belief systems perverted into terrorism. They are not magical vampires repelled by garlic and silver crucifixes. Before you can "use their beliefs against them" you have to understand them above the intellectual level of a Hammer sexploitation film.
For instance, Muslims hold that the body of a martyr is purified by the act of martyrdom. Desecration of the body by enemies does not imperil the soul, as any nitwit could figure out.
The example Trump cited was entirely a fabrication. The Moro insurgency in the Philippines was calmed by negotiations and by Pershing's thoughtful, restrained, and sympathetic treatment of the enemy.

(2,329 posts)being shot with a "pork" bullet doesn't make them a martyr....and, neither does being killed by a woman, which the Kurds are taking full advantage of.

Bucky
(54,068 posts)Even the most superstitious Muslims don't believe body desecration by enemies imperils the soul. Fanatics believe the act of martyrdom purifies the body of the terrorist.
The Snopes article from 2001 slapped away this idiocy 15 years ago.
