reasons. Mainly, we protect another person or institution because we have something to gain or lose if we do not.

(5,016 posts)The way cognitive dissonance was being used by whoever was talking about dissonance was using the terminology incorrectly and that was really my point. ...and I am not trying to "look smart", I already have one doctorate in psychology....no need to look smart.
