(57,936 posts)That is reassuring. We are just beginning to organize and work in California.
Yes. Because of the Electoral College system, our individual votes do not count as much as those of people in other states, and yes, we are late in the game, but we have the right to vote, and we are, many, many of us the most progressive people (maybe with the exception of Oregon) in the nation.
We want to have our say and vote.
And we want as strong a Bernie presence at the Democratic Convention in July as possible.
Feel the Bern!

(304 posts)GO CALIFORNIA!
If he can't possibly win, what's the point?
JDPriestly
(57,936 posts)a campaign to change the political structure of our politics. It's a political revolution.
Bernie wants more people to vote and is discussing issues that have real impact on people's lives in language they understand.
Read his book, and you will understand why I want Bernie to keep fighting through the convention and beyond.
The TPP is, for example, an issue in opposition to which we need a strong, strong movement.
The trade agreements are just corporate coups. And we need to rewrite or cancel them. They are not compatible with our Constitution or with democracy.
Bernie is the real deal. Read his book.

(11,746 posts)Bernie is ok. I'm quite familiar with him.
I don't see the connection between what he is doing in the campaign and this alleged political revolution. This doesn't jibe with my experience with government, real deal or not.

(14,881 posts)Bernie decided to pick up the mantle when Liz Warren opted out. Liz and Bernie became the "establishment" voice of the Occupy movement.
And national matchup polls show time and again, that is the voice of the majority.

(11,746 posts)I don't see any distinctinction between your faith and any other religion.
And I'm not a believer.
I could cite plenty of evidence to dispute your winability claim but you've certainly seen it and you choose to stick with your faith instead. That's fine. You can believe that the earth is 5,000 years old or whatever else your faith lays claim to but you really do need to identify that as faith.

(2,570 posts)could/should only be characterized as a "cult of personality".
I suppose that should be expected from those who would belittle the effort for whatever cause, be it animus or ignorance

(17,505 posts)is more like going gaga over name recognition and an association with things, like being "a progressive", even tho' the name is in no way "progressive".

(2,570 posts)A cult of personality arises when an individual uses mass media, propaganda, or other methods to create an idealized, heroic, and at times worshipful image, often through unquestioning flattery and praise.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cult_of_personality
which doesn't diminish the insulting quality of it whatsoever
It differs little intent, etc, from the "extreme/loony left" designation the same type of _______ are also fond of using -- to paint us individually and collectively as undesirables or worse.

(11,746 posts)Ad hominem schtick.
I have a fair amount of experience with actual cults. I'm not saying your "revolution" is a cult but attacking me for not toeing the line is a hallmark of cults. I experienced this same behavior from Ayn Rand cultists at the Atlas Society. I have experienced it with a couple of nasty martial arts cults. I experienced it just walking past LaRouchies and having the nerve to ignore their stupid advances.
It's lame behavior. If your "revolution" is righteous it will stand on its merits, not on your rude behavior.
stupidicus
(2,570 posts)you expected what, a wet kiss for insulting his supporters and the long overdue "revolution" with your belittling/demeaning characterization?
Again, I don't care if your insulting rhetoric choice is due to ignorance or apathy and all the negative things that go into that state, it is still an insult whether intended as such or not.
of course Mr "I don't do the cult of personality thing" wasn't saying Bernie and his supporters are a cult/making such a comparison. Do you know the diff between a hole in the ground and your.....

(57,936 posts)Bernie is very, very thrifty. He does not waste money like most candidates.
And there are not so many states with elections in the future.
I wish good luck to all of Bernie's supporters and field workers and employees. Thanks to each and every one of them for the work they are doing and have done.

This campaign ends when neoliberalism is extinguished, however long that takes, by whatever means are necessary.
We are in it to the end.

They have no clue that it's not about playing the same political game. In that status quo game, you're supposed to sit down and let the game continue unchallenged. Not continue to fight.
It's about staying in to reach more people with the message. It may not be Bernie - it may be someone else that can benefit from hearing what he has to say.
ReRe
(10,597 posts)... They don't know how to "Think outside the box," as Bernie says. It's an abstract 3-word concept that flies right over their heads while they sit there in a trance.
Well, they better wake up. It's getting late.
