They cannot stand the fact that this man stands for all of us, no matter who or what we are...

They can't bear to look at the love in the eyes of people inspired by the best POTUS of my lifetime...

It's what we need in this time, to realize that we really are all manifestations of whatever we choose or hope to be. It's not really about him or up to him, he is just a facilitator, IMHO. Does that make sense to you?

It's healthy to feel good about something, to give strength to endure the hard days ahead. And he said we would be going through hard times and many changes, early on in his first campaign.

I'm not sure where this idea of an omnipotent leader who was going to wipe all our tears away came from, but had to listen to a lot of that from the right wing nuts early on. He's not a father figure, he's not a god. He's just the POTUS.

I think some people really want a daddy in D.C. and others hate the idea of having one. Neither is the man, but the right desperately needs an authoritarian to make them feel safe. That's why Obama scares them, so they project he's a coward. He's flexible, thus unpredictable to him.

We are in charge, and when many focus all the blame on him, it's missing the mark. That's what the media has done, made him the scapegoat for everything that's going on. Obama is not Jesus coming to save us, and never claimed to be.
Someone posted this as a signature and I looked up the original article, but this part is enough:

In short, if you’re still disappointed in Barack Obama, it’s only because you never understood whose job it was to produce change in the first place. But don’t take out your own failings in this regard on the rest of us...

Let's keep our spirits as high as we can, there is enough trouble we cannot avoid in life and has nothing to do with Obama. Henry Ford said something that I've had to face often:

If you think you can do a thing, or think you can't do a thing, you're right.

That's the kind of belief I see in the eyes of the people at these rallies. They need some relief, some validation. Those who stand safely to the side to say nothing will change, will get what they believe. It's just the way it works.

JMHO, everyone has one...

The President returns the salute with his own proper salute and shows that young
man respect and courtesy.

Like that. But, watch, there will be a staged event where some kid is coached to do this and the advance notice Romney people will say, look how ordinary Romney is.

BTW although Obama never was in the military he went out of his way to
learn what a proper salute should look like and how it is given.

That is part of the story as well. I'm sure that young boy did this on his own after someone in the family earlier told him about respecting the President of the United States. Those on Fox News could learn a lot from this young boy.
