It is more like Zimmerman is in school and the investigator is telling him what they are looking for and how it all works.
Does anyone seriously think that if it had been a black man in that same situation that the investigator would be that helpful?

7. I would say so.

So friendly they explained how the detection software works and what they would be looking for...friends do that for you ...so you won't slip up.

6. For starters, a black man would have been shackled to the floor, I'm guessing.

I don't see any cuffs or restraints on Mister Wonderful at all.

8. They would have done the same with a freely talking man of any race.

Zimmerman has admitted that he did it and is providing details. In that type of situation the police act friendly and keep the suspect talking. It is all admissible in court. Let him keep talking and see if he hangs himself with contradictions.

10. Well, I've never been arrested so I have no first-hand experience on that score.

13. Standard interrogation procedure for that type of situation.

Now if the suspect is NOT freely talking then other interrogation techniques may be used.

But as long as his mouth is running about what happened you want to keep him talking. People naturally talk more to a friendly person. That is why the good cop/bad cop routine is so effective.

If you suddenly turn hostile on a cooperative suspect then he may shut up and demand a lawyer. It may be emotionally satisfying to you to see the police treat him with hostility, but it would be really stupid police work.

15. Emotionally satisfying to me? Not really sure why you'd jump to that assessment.

Like I said, all I know about the inside of a police station is what I see on television.

2. Zimmerman says he rolls on top of Martin
Thu Jun 21, 2012, 12:04 PM

During the interrogation zimmerman says he rolled on top of Martin after he shoots him but Martin continues struggling so hard that he had to grap his wrists and extend his arms out to stop him from steuggling, even though he's already fatally shot. He also says Martin said, "You got me, you got me" after he was shot. Who believes this crap? Come on, zimmy, that dialogue is straight out of some Hollywood B movie. Certainly not something a 17-year-old black kid would say as he's about to die. You couldn't come up with anything better than that, buddy? See if that holds up in court. He's so obviously making that stuff up as he goes. No wonder the lead investigator wanted to arrest him that night.

I've never seen so much a$$ kissing by the police for a MURDER suspect. I know you have to be friendly, to get information out of the suspect, but this is too much.

12. Zimmerman: Have you ever had to shoot someone?

Cop: No.

Police officer who faces dangerous situations every day, yet still somehow manages not to shoot anyone (much less a kid).

Only the unluckiest among them end up having to shoot someone.

Or maybe the second unluckiest. The ones with the worst fortunes get killed.
