Firstly, Rachel's analysis of the infuriating Holder Contempt of Congress deal was brilliantly covered and highly recommended. The connection to Fox propaganda was brilliantly done.
Secondly, Chris has what appears to be a magnificent new book that can be summarized in my bumper sticker I shop all over DU all the time:
OUR INSTITUTIONS ARE INFESTED WITH CORRUPT SOCIOPATHS
Rachel led the segment with an analysis of perceived vs. ideal vs actual income disparity in the present moment USA.
Chris point was basically that we have rotten incompetent elites running our institutions that are fucking everything up, citing:
The 2000 Bush v Gore Supreme Court decision that stunk so bad they disallowed the use of the case for any future legal precedent.
The entire Iraq invasion
The fall of Arthur Anderson concurrent with the Enron scandal
The fact that there were more baseball players before Congress answering for steroid use than there were Wall Streeters and Banksters answering for the financial collapse of 2007.
I think Chris book offers profound insight to our current milieu and could possibly offer a road map out of this mess.
I wish I read more books. I have a pile of unread or partially read ones ( Shock Doctrine, for one) that I should man up and finish before I buy any new ones!

Last night's program was one of her bests, and am definitely going to buy Hayes' book.
