A fascinating and very intimate look into her creative process.

On Q at CBC (2013) - Jian and Joni Mitchell - in a North American broadcast exclusive - talk about how one of Canada's greatest gifts to music, dealt with fame, her fight to remain original, and how painting shaped her approach to songwriting.

all of the above, perhaps its the camaraderie I felt when she showed up with a toolbox that looked more like mine than anything I had encountered to that time. I'm a little younger but I had already been performing , sporadically, for some time when I first heard her. That unapologetic range and unformatted style set me free.

I have the thread bookmarked so I can watch it at leisure. Thank you so much!

in music, in my view.

And a greater talent than most of her contemporaries.

Long, long life to Joni.

her songs accompanied me throught my teens, 20's, 30's and on up to now - my 60's. all of her music is on rotation and sometimes pulled out and played with special devotion - so many fav - ladies of the canyon, blue, etc.

aging beautifully, too.
