Al Jazeera America may be shutting off the lights permanently soon, but that doesnt mean reporters like David Shuster arent continuing to go about their business until the final gun sounds.
Wednesday night, Shuster just reported on the 7:00 PM EST AJAM nightly newscast that the FBI has completed its examination of Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clintons private email server after an investigation lasting nearly one year. The former Fox News and MSNBC reporter states investigators are nearing a verdict whether to seek criminal charges against the Former Secretary of State, Senator and First Lady.

(17,064 posts)Considering the foreign policy mess she left at State, and that she's the center of the only investigation/scandal his administration has had, I'm kind of inclined to think he'll stay neutral, and let the chips fall where they may for Clinton. I don't think there's any close bond between them, and he probably views her time as SoS being a real PITA.

(17,064 posts)At this point, I'm pretty certain crimes have been committed. Clinton's IT guy had been pleading the 5th, which strongly indicates he was vulnerable to charges. He was given immunity for talking, which indicates the FBI is pretty confident his testimony will implicate person(s) higher up with more serious crimes. Immunity would not be given if he alone was the target for prosecution, or staff below him.
So, will there be an indictment? Good question. It's possible that although there's evidence of crimes committed, the DoJ may not feel they have a solid enough case to prosecute. Or there may be a decision not to prosecute for political reasons. There have been several off the record statements by the actual investigators that they think there is enough evidence for indictments (Clinton or staff not specified), and that if the DoJ doesn't prosecute they'll go public with the evidence. That's pretty much handing the GOP a loaded impeachment gun, imo. Whatever decision the DoJ makes, it won't be the final chapter for HRC. This is going to continue on.
