She said that he should perhaps have done his homework. She was correct.

(35,290 posts)The interview with Sanders was taken out of context, pieces were put together that did not belong together, and crucial information was taken out. When reading the whole interview, Sanders is very informed on what he is talking about, he knows how to get things done and has taken the steps to do so.

(15,369 posts)Rhetoric degenerating to playground level? Check.
That Bernie wasn't accurate when he said that Hillary called him unqualified? He wasn't. Check.
That she finally said that Bernie should perhaps have done his homework after Joe Scar asked her four times whether Bernie was qualified? Yes, she did - after being pushed four times to say something worse. Check.
That she was correct to say that he should have done his homework. Yes - what did he think the NYDN was going to ask him about if it wasn't one of his signature issues? Check.
Bernie is for the first time really getting to see what it is like on the hot seat that Hillary has so ably occupied for at least 24 years, Should there have been more nuance in reports about his performance? Probably.
But then his turning around and saying "Hillary started it" - LOL! That is WAY too much like an elementary school recess spat. Hillary didn't. If anyone did, it was the WaPo with its own incorrect headline.
Now, there is definitely room for some nuance there.
And no, I am not wrong. This episode is "patty cake" compared to what the GOP will do to him in a GE. The kitchen will become unbearably HOT - much hotter than he has ever before experienced. His behavior now does not bode well.

(20,453 posts)Having read that long interview, he relays a CLEAR understanding regarding Wall Street reform.
ALSO.... I don't think anyone here just fell off the turnip truck when it comes to smear campaigns and feigning the other person's lack of credentials.
It's good to recognize and distinguish from factually-based understanding of the branches of government is playing out in front of you. Sanders understood that a body of government does not have an unlimited roll as to HOW Wall Street reforms, but what roll in reforming must be in place for these proper controls to return. We had this as a nation after the first Great Depression. If you read any of the piece, you'd see how these questions were posed, then once answered, the interview foisted some questions that would HAVE no answers.

No link to a WaPo article, no video of Hillary saying these things.

(60,334 posts)That is what some reporter paraphrased he comments about him needing to his homework and Bernie didn't do his homework on this before he made a completely unsubstantiated claim to retaliate like a child. And the BSER'S have gone whole hog on the attack.

(45,984 posts)I think a reasonable characterization of that remark is "unqualified." However, you are technically correct.
Given the journalistic standards of the Washington Post and much of the rest of establishment media nowadays, the Piost will probably give Bernie three Pinocchios and say nothing about its own part in causing the confusion. After all, establishmentarians never make mistakes.

Read all the article before making judgment next time Senator Sanders.
