about the problem posed by lots of people "running around with smart phones but no education". .
He had in mind young people in the middle east, but it sadly applies everywhere and to everyone, I think, including, worst of all, educated folks as well.
There are way too many educated people out there these days with technical expertise, who nevertheless do not think, or choose not to think, not to read, not to be truly informed, and not to base their opinions on facts.

Thankfully, Kerry is not one of those people. He is a treasure; in the midst of this miserable election season, I found this interview a breath of fresh air.
