Many readers (of posts) do not have the time, for whatever reasons like work, laziness, etc.; the reasons are irrelevant, to read sources and check for accuracy for all the assertions provided - instead, they may take, at face value, whatever is written in what is termed as "drive-by postings." (10,622 posts)Neither proof nor truth matter, those posts have to do with the "BIG LIE" Strategy that Brock and the Clinton campaign are using as a large tool in their dirty tricks box.
His "internet specialists" (legal supposedly, but based on a very loose interpretation of a loop hole)
can be paid by a super-PAC to coordinate directly with her campaign if it is only involved via the internet,
Some of these employees are paid to post an all forms of social media, and often do, especially when it regards the Big Lie tactics when they are used, which rely on repetition of the lie in order to make people believe the lie even when faced with solid facts to the contrary.
Expect these lies to be continuously spread, along with other lies pushed as truth via the Big Lie tactic that they have been employing liberally. (perhaps the only true sentence involving the word liberally in connection with Clinton, a right wing candidate within the Democratic party.)
If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it. The lie can be maintained only for such time as the State can shield the people from the political, economic and/or military consequences of the lie. It thus becomes vitally important for the State to use all of its powers to repress dissent, for the truth is the mortal enemy of the lie, and thus by extension, the truth is the greatest enemy of the State.

Because, if it is, you're not helping them either. You're just making them look like they have nothing better to do than send trolls to hassle Dems.

(57,936 posts)I think this is the last corral for the mainstream media when it comes to the Democratic Party.
There are still a few TV-addicted voters.
But Bernie's crowds and his numbers in recent primaries and caucuses show that the media no longer can pick favorites.
Even if Hillary wins the nomination, Bernie's successes prove that the demise of the media as we have known it is here.
We are watching all the independent news on the internet and watch only short clips from the silly news programs staged by the corporate media at most.
Reddit is popular among young people. That's where they get information.
The corporate media is singing its swan song. And no one is crying over except the overpaid pundits and newscasters.
Bye, bye NBC, ABC, CNN, Fox, CBS. We just don't trust you anymore.
Goodbye and good riddance.
Of course, you could change and become real news media that provides in-depth information on the issues, but you will probably have to succumb to disinterest and then come back to life in a different form in order to draw viewers from the new, internet-informed viewers.

(10,303 posts)If this is what a Democrat is in the USA.... oops. There's many types of Democrats in the party. Some are called DINOs because their politics resemble Republican Lite, and often vote with the Republicans. Then you have people like Bernie Sanders and Angus King... Democrats in all but name but DIABN is a horrible acronym. Bernie joined the Democratic Party but came to be elected as an Independent and thus is identified as such in the Senate.
I look at the parallels between the US Democratic Party and the UK Labour Party. Both Bill Clinton and Tony Blair are considered proponents of "Third Way" politics..... Clinton with his "New Democrats" and Blair with "New Labour". Fast forward to the 2010s.... the leader of the UK Labour Party Jeremy Corbyn. ... his politics are more like "Old Labour".
Now Mr. Bernie Sanders has not been part of the Democratic Party establishment, but it doesn't mean that he has not espoused traditional Democratic Party principles. He is in some respects America's Jeremy Corbyn.

(14,173 posts)Hillary has fooled you and many other supporters to believe she is a "progressive" in every way. Yes she is in the social arena. Gay marriage (finally), gun control, women's rights, minority rights with regards to the police. But in the big arenas, real financial reform, public financing of elections, corporate weighed trade agreements (she will be for TPP, after she was against it, after she was for it), feeding the war machine, putting SS on the table, dampening down the $15 per hour push. These are issues that affect, even if indirectly, much more deeply the plight of the middle class, and disadvantaged, and hinder the US moving forward in a progressive way.

(20,166 posts)I, overall, thought that Bernie Sanders handled the exchange very well. And I think that there were a few places where he stumbled, andbut I was amazed at his ability to parry the questions that were thrown at him and to, basically, for instance, bluntly say, when he was asked about the Israeli-Palestinian situation, that Israel needed to withdraw from the illegal settlements in Palestinian territory, which I was astounded that he was quite frank and clear on his position, while at the same time saying he would do everything possible as president to negotiate peace and security for Israel in an overall settlement. And I think therehe did stumble a little bit when he was pressed on how he would break up some of the too-big-to-fail banks. He clearly did not have that down pat.

This is a former Anita Hill smearing republican hitman that illegally coordinates with the Clinton campaign to smear Sanders with half truths and outright lies? I always visited media matters before this campaign to laugh about the hypocrisy of the republican party but now we can all see how David has learned over the years to be the best political hit-man of all time. If you really feel Bernie is the losing campaign you haven't been paying attention. The Clinton campaign has already figured out that they are losing badly and these attacks will become more commonplace and Bernie is on his way to the nomination is the same fashion Obama was against the unenthusiastic candidate in 2008. (39,451 posts)As soon as they hit Bernie, social media is there to expose their lies.
But then again - I forgot!! Bernie supporters don't do their research

(12,448 posts)For some Sanders supporters, it borders on pathological. Apparently he is Satan, the Boogyman, and that monster under your bed when you were a little kid.
Oh, that bit about not doing your research? It's true!

(5,668 posts)As I was told growing up in high school and College Readers Digest was always pegged to 5th grade reading. I'm not sure The Hobbit was even though it was written for Children. ie it's harder to read The Hobbit than it is the rather LONG LOTR. USA Today I was told was written for an even lower grade level. The anything relative was alway on the front page but everything else was crap. I'd think a leading paper would have a higher reading level but I guess it's common place now for dumb papers to exist. I can't even say the Enquirer is that bad. Yeah it's a tabloid but it knows it is. Daily Noise doesn't seem to know it's a satire paper

(53,032 posts)If you don't like the interview, it's Bernie's answers you have a problem with. There is no reason for anyone to have to wait for a newspaper or radio show host to tell them what Bernie said. They can and should read it themselves.

Hartman isn't reading the whole interview because its quite long. To claim it was about guns only is deliberately misleading. The bulk of the interview is about what he proposes for Wall Street.
To claim that an interview in Sanders own words is a hit job is reminiscent of Palin's claims that the media was asking "gotcha questions" by expecting her to speak about policy. The interviewers gave Sanders an opportunity to talk about his policies. You should read it yourselves, if--that is--you actually care about what he proposes for the country.

(3,343 posts)that no one but a few Clintonites actually believes what you say in relation to Sanders? Heck 40% of DEMOCRATIC voters in WI don't believe your candidate is honest...
What the media has said about this interview is largely untrue. IF you READ what Bernie says is isn't what the media claims he says. And to claim that Bernie prioritised gun manufacturers of the parents of kids killed in Newtown... well.. saying that is as stupid as saying that BLM is defending murderers... something else Team Clinton has just spouted off...
Anyway, continue on, we'll just be here shaking our head at your endless defending of the indefensible.

(53,032 posts)The interview happened and is available for all voters who care about informing themselves to read. Clearly you aren't interested in what Bernie says about his own policy positions. That reflects on you, not me.
Of course Bernie prioritized gun makers and sellers over the kids in Newtown and all citizens.; That is what that immunity bill is.
Truth does not emanate from a political campaign. His spin on it conforms precisely with the NRA's interpretation, what every gun activist has said about that bill long before Bernie entered the presidential campaign. What the bill actually does and how it has been applied are very different.
Hell will freeze over before I let a politician tell me how to think. For whatever reason, you aren't able to look into the issue and decide to simply take a politician's word as absolute truth, which is patently absurd. You could say this or that issue problematic but still believe on balance Bernie is a better candidate because of x, y, z, but that would require a degree of critical thinking you have entirely absolved in favor of promoting his candidacy. That's on you.
There is a reason every gun control activist and group in the country supports Clinton over Bernie. They might disagree with Clinton on other issues, but if their cause is gun control, there is no contest.
You can call everyone a liar who dares to question your favored member of the political elite and patently refuse to verify any facts whatsoever. That is a choice you made based on what you value.

(11,546 posts)Thom has been one of best journalists pushing progressive values for YEARS! Just because you don't like his story (imo - exposing the truth) doesn't mean that he's a conspiracy theorist.
Such an insult to someone who has been on the Dems/progressive side for years.
