The educated people read the NY Times and WSJ. Newsday was still a Pulitzer prize-winning local paper for Long Island news. The Daily News was mostly pictures with a few paragraphs of explanation written at a 6th grade reading level. Hartman isn't reading the whole interview because its quite long. To claim it was about guns only is deliberately misleading. The bulk of the interview is about what he proposes for Wall Street.

To claim that an interview in Sanders own words is a hit job is reminiscent of Palin's claims that the media was asking "gotcha questions" by expecting her to speak about policy. For whatever reason, you aren't able to look into the issue and decide to simply take a politician's word as absolute truth, which is patently absurd.
