(6,344 posts)Was this a NY rally for Bernie that turned into violence? I saw peaceful and then the middle was not. Does anyone know what happened? Some of this is very disturbing.

(6,344 posts)It was not clear to me where the switch from a Bernie street rally was to the Occupy Wallstreet protests. I would recommend the person who put this video together to fix that. It is deceiving.

(20,453 posts)I remember the pepper-spray and OWS cops in NYC. Those videos were played over and over again.
It dovetails with what Bernie Sanders has believed (walking the walk) since 1963.
It get it.

(304 posts)Appreciated the time and effort the creator shared to piece together "Welcome to NY, Bernie Sanders.
The video started out on a positive and exciting note, however it proceeded with an increasingly disquieting tone.
My feelings were that clips from the Bronx rally could have been interspersed without all the violent segments to produce an inspiring and change-positive video.
Bernie's campaign is uplifting and I was hoping this video would have reflected that as well.

(12,165 posts)A loud agent provocateur tried to stimulate violence among a bunch of us in a peaceful anti-Iraq invasion protest. We stood strong, and it did not work.
The asshole kept it up for quite a while, but eventually saw he was the only one attracting the attention of the police, and finally cooled it. It was a great lesson in group discipline & solidarity.

(40 posts)Hi everyone. i hope you are all having a good day or night. I made/edited the video and the music. I'm sorry if some of you misinterpreted the video. This video is about the struggle we as citizens have had fighting corruption. It's not pretty and it's not fun. That was the reality of what the Occupy Wall street movement faced in NY and that is the level of corruption that we face now.
Lest we forget Occupy Wall street.
They protested against inequality and now we're taking on the whole Establishment. We must stand strong against Injustice and never forget the sacrifices made by others. Bernie is telling us to Stand up. Come together. Fight Back and
What i say is " Welcome to NY, Bernie Sanders" we've been waiting and we're ready.
Thank you all for watching and sharing. I really appreciate it. Feel that BERN.

(6,344 posts)If you feel so inspired to create another "Welcome Bernie to NY" video that is inspiring though out, that would be great.
Inspiring helps bring people to the polls. We are angry and the inspiration that someone going for the top job wants to change things, has motivated 1000's.
Make us another!

(40 posts)Thanks for the Welcome.
I might make another one. People are inspired by different things. I'm trying keep the Bern Alive and ignite some more people. For me , when i see injustice , like police brutality that sets me off. When i here Bernie speak that lights me up too. This video was meant for everyone to enjoy. Not everyone likes the soft and peaceful sounds and visuals. Some people need a little something more. Some don't realize exactly whats at stake until they see the sacrifices people have made for the cause.
