(9,838 posts)have they been? Did they just wake up this morning with brand new brain, or was their buffer erased last night while they slept? Thank god I am not hooked up to TV. I would beat my head on the wall every day if I watched this kind of stuff.

(711 posts)happenings. And so you need to make each day special whether it is so or not. Things that dont fit the narrative of the day are blurred from your thinking so that you sound a bit more "authentic". The hosts will no doubt hurt their ability to think in ways that are not so shallow. Actually I believe that one of the presenters has a reputation for being "stunningly superficial" in his understanding of world matters.

(5,668 posts)seemed to indicate the media was pushing lies from Sanders. They don't much like that. where would she get the idea Bernie is lying about her? from the MEDIA. ouch.

(2,379 posts)The Clintons only bought a house there because there happened to be an open Senate seat for her to grab.
If New York is anyone's home turf, it's Bernie's.

(12,471 posts)People in NY do not like her. They simply voted against the crappy candidates that the RepubliCONs put up when she ran for Senate.
Bernie was born and raised in MY NEIGHBORHOOD in Brooklyn. He has the accent, the attitude, and the physical behavior attributes of a true Brooklynite.
As far as historical points, when Bernie is elected president, he shall be the first Jewish president, and the first president from the 4th largest city in the US (if it was a city).
From what I have seen of the rally in the South Bronx, Bernie has NYC, and therefore has NY state.

(2,379 posts)My family still lives there. I now live in Connecticut. Used to work in Manhattan and have lived in Queens and Brooklyn in the past.
Well aware that New Yorkers don't like her. The only way she's going to win outside of the very wealthy areas of the state is by tapping into her allies in the State Dem. party and cheating.
PS/Edit: Oh, trust me, he's got upstate NY, too. Don't forget that fracking is a big issue for the whole area of NYS that's north of PA (where people have suffered the effects of fracking) ... and then the Northern part of the state is right next to Vermont ... people there are familiar with Bernie. Burlington TV and radio stations during the era when Bernie was the mayor did reach people in NYS just across Lake Champlain. Hell, I used to be able to get Burlington, VT radio stations at night as far south as my house (Orange County).

(658 posts)I'm very happy that they're talking about Bernie.. Go Bernie!!!!
But I just can't stand to watch any show of this nature. The constant interruption and interjections. Drives me crazy. When someone is talking, let them talk... LET THEM TALK. When they've finished, you can speak - uninterrupted I might add... then someone else can speak.
My complaint is complete.

(1,005 posts)feel like the ignored redheaded stepchild when it comes to the media based in NYC and that other Washington. Portland had 20,000 people come to see Bernie months ago. It's like we are not really a part of their United States.
passiveporcupine
(8,175 posts)that was 28000 people. I've been searching for numbers for Hillary and so far all I can come up with is 5500. I think she got more than that for her very first event, didn't she?
It has to be a little unnerving to her to see the difference in crowd sizes. And some websites are outright lying about how big her crowds are (without giving any numbers).

(8,175 posts)It's easier for younger people to stand half a day in line to join a big rally. Older people seem more inclined to vote for Hillary. Why, I'm not really sure, unless it's mostly upper middle class people who have not felt the pinch that everyone else is feeling. I'm one of those older people who cannot go to a Bernie rally because of my health...but I sure am with him in spirit.
I wish I thought Hillary supporters were unenthusiastic, but from the people I see here, I also see a lot of devotion and enthusiasm.

(711 posts)further back in time. You identify with how things were and you grow more and more skeptical towards change as you feel dragged into a future that you haven't asked for. You would prefer if things rolled back a bit, and you might even start to look for someone who can "make america great again".
All this happens with no reference to the merit of the case for a better future, whatsoever.

(8,175 posts)I'm so ready for big change in this country. Not change that will help me. I'm too old...but change that will help our young people be successful, and change that will protect our planet, even if it comes at some "cost" to us.

But if you look carefully you might see that you have adapted your view in other areas, reflecting a bit of personal inertia.

(697 posts)For MSNBC to cave like this and actually present positive news about Bernie Sanders is very meaningful.
It means that they understand that Hillary does NOT have a lock on the nomination and that the inside-the-beltway class realizes she is in trouble. MSNBC, and others, now have to get out in front so as not to look like total journalistic fools.
The Hillary campaign inside polling info must be horrific for both Wisconsin and New York or we would not be seeing this on television.
"MSNBC, and others, now have to get out in front so as not to look like total journalistic fools"
If thats true, then this is just the calm before the storm....

All that he's doing is advocating a set of policies that either used to exist in the US or, it they didn't, are extant in some form in every other developed nation on the planet.
It's mind-boggling how ignorant and parochial mainstream US politics is.
On another note, who the fuck is the audience that Morning Joe targets?
How does any sane person, irrespective of their political leanings, sit through hours of condescension aimed a regular people from a bunch of smug, elitist Beltway insiders?

(2,397 posts)The more time Bernie spends in NY, the more votes he's going to suck away from H.
That would be beautiful to see Hills lose NY. And yes they do call it "carpetbagging" when a candidate moves into a state that is not native to them and runs for office.
Dan Lungren did it in Calif moving to Sacramento from Long Beach because a House seat was open.
