(3,825 posts)But my husband and I worked hard for our professions, paid for our education without loans, back in the day, when you could do that, then worked our butts off until we retired. Almost 35 years for my husband. He still works at education for his profession, and is a Hillary voter and so am I. We will always be Democrats, doesn't matter if we were poor when we were students, or retired people. The party represents our values and I can honestly say, I've never voted Republican, never will. Plus, I don't sit out elections, we have seen the cost in states that have elected Republicans and they control every house in their state. People have forgotten that their vote is so important, and also the fact that the Republican Party has made it part of their platform to eliminate voting rights. They can't allow fair elections, they would never be in power any more and they know that. So vote, but don't call us names just because we disagree on a candidate.

(1,668 posts)That's great you are able to lead a comfortable life. My parents are in the same financial position and they deserve it. (Of course their comfortable nest egg will be almost completely drained by medical bills, but that's a different story)
But on the other hand, it's a shame that entire generations of Americans will never get to experience that same contentment because so many people of your generation believe it's ok that corporations are buying our political system so they can suck the wealth out of this country.

Or do personal slurs only apply to Bernie supporters?

(8,175 posts)Everyone who speaks for Hillary and/or introduces her is also just reciting lines. Does that mean they cannot be heartfelt? They are doing it just for the money? (are they being paid to do this?)
Being a POC, I think Rosario has a big job representing other POC who have been deemed Hillary's firewall, up till now, but not all are...many ARE Bernie supporters.
So it's nice of you to try to belittle her and her efforts. Yeah, she's just a misplaced colored person who memorized her lines. She's not important.
Colored lives (and people) matter. No matter who they support.

(20,885 posts)I made that up. Appears that Hillary is getting rattled.
And this Rosario Dawson? Good presentation.

(142 posts)... and Tulsi Gabbard, I'm loving all the articulate, caring, young women speaking out so eloquently for Bernie.
PLEASE let's make this happen, America! First Wisconsin ... then New York ... then Indiana, New Jersey and best of all ... California!
The nomination in June, then on to a wave election in November (with Bernie's coattails flipping the Congress back to the Dems).
I'm optimistic!

(23,156 posts)I also must add that I haven't the faintest clue who Rosario Dawson is. Never heard of her, don't think I've ever seen her, but with no TV I simply don't watch as much canned entertainment as some others do. But she sure as hell seems intelligent and articulate.
