At the outset of every election campaign he always used to say he was going to vote for the Democrat. But of course, inevitably the campaign started to get nasty, as it always does. And he was always shocked! Astonished! that the candidates could be so nasty to each other! And then he always ended up not voting, as a result. This became a predictable occurrence with him.
