This actually would work if millions of people started buying as much locally as possible. Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot that is even made in the USA anymore.

way when we signed some of our trade agreements. Some of those agreements may prohibit us from protecting our local manufacturers.

I'm not sure, but one of the reasons that I oppose the trade agreements as they now are written is that they may take away too much from our sovereign rights in this and other respects.

I pick things up, see "Made in China" and put them back on the shelf because I don't really need them that badly. One thing I'll never buy is an American flag that's not made in the USA. It just feels wrong. It isn't easy, but you will save money by avoiding foreign shit. Sometimes there aren't options. Patience is good in that case.
