(23,867 posts)It's a guess. He sounds like he actually does know what happened, but I can't imagine him caring for anything but money.

Same with Bernie.
Only the dumb people like Trump and the smart people like Bernie.

(541 posts)me thinks there was a lot of astro turf cheering-section'ing for Jeb? and Marco tonight.
This moment in the debate was great, And I doubt that the uncharacteristically loud cheering for JEB will equate to him prevailing next Saturday. If proven wrong, I'll eat crow
but don't think I need to worry about it

(12,586 posts)It's been my experience that the President has gone out of the way to avoid blaming Bush. He has plainly stated what the circumstances were when he took office -- crashed economy, obscene national debt, high unemployment -- but I don't remember him saying "It's George Bush's fault."
I do remember the Republicans blaming Carter for every Reagan failure well into his second term, and blaming Clinton -- and later Carter -- for every bad thing that happened during W's "reign" (I love how Trump called it that), including 9-11.
I still don't want Trump serving in the Oval Office, but I love his candor in these debates, and how he makes the other candidates squirm.

(10,098 posts)It figures I missed this one and am going to have to watch the whole thing to see this exchange. I am not sure if Republicans are so blinded by party loyalty to not be able to face the truth about the war in Iraq. I am wondering since the bigotry, sexism, and just total obnoxious behavior of Trump got his poll numbers to go up if him telling the truth about this will actually be the thing that makes his poll numbers go down.
Peace
