But the young people are amazingly well informed.
I wonder how long will it be before TPTB insist the internet be shut down, you know, in the interest of national security.

(40,656 posts)When I was young you could be a nurse, a mommy, a teacher and the like. You couldn't go through the big doors unless you were rich. Hillary Clinton was rich and never faced a closed door. She went to great colleges, was on the board of Walmart, was a governor's and president's wife with staff, offices and projects, was a carpet bagging Senator, ran for president in a serious way, was secretary of state, is running for president in a serious way again and never missed a meal, a great moment meeting people and going places, living like the Queen of Sheba and getting the same shit for her kid and grandkids. WHERE THE HELL WAS SHE EVER DEPRIVED OF GOING THROUGH THE DOORS THAT WERE NEVER OPENED FOR ME BECAUSE I WASN'T RICH!? She doesn't get to use this bullshit to explain anything going on. She never had a road block to do what she wanted. If she didn't get elected, its her fault. But she had the open road in front of her. Bad move, Hillary.

There have always been a few very rich and brilliant women who were part of the establishment. Not many, and usually they were the daughter, wife or mistress of very powerful men to begin with. Notice a theme going here?
Being a woman doesn't make me automatically want to support her. I would be incredibly proud to support Elizabeth Warren because she represents the issues I care about and is also a woman.
I think that whole feminist approach is not going to play all that well with women as a whole.
