(7,901 posts)armed to the teeth and crazy. I'd almost say they are a lost tribe except for the lack of cohesive original culture. I think the Mormon Church has a lot to answer for and someone had better start asking them the hard questions about encouraging this sect.

(51,129 posts)There are a lot of known polygamous sects, lots of insular communities, and lots of secret plural relationships. A few of these sects are HQ'ed near Finicum's place in Arizona. another in St. George near the Bundy Ranch. The NV community is the polygamy suburb of St. George, one of the towns like Colorado City, AZ, with no services so no outsiders stop.
LDS-derived churches upholding polygamy after the Manifesto of 1890
These communities have very distinct, provincial views of "others" who are not members sharing their secrets and beliefs. People are literally raised inside a bubble. If Portland is Little Beirut, these places are more like Little North Korea.

When arrested they were on their way to a meeting to train others - on what? Insanity?
Glad these guys did this - must have been scary at times.

How about, your review the film, write out a script, and follow it.
You'll say more and get a lot more attention.
