1. There are more than 30 safety requirements on the interior of a new car.

There are none--zip--zero for the manufacturer of guns.

A recall of guns cannot be forced by the US government. Power tools, automobiles, meats, produce and even toys for fuck's sake. But not guns.

A retailer who markets a product in a dangerous or illegal way can be sued and prosecuted for doing so. Not gun sellers unless they fit a tiny sliver of exceptions.

A manufacturer of a product that is dangerous if used as designed and directed can be forced to recall or be sued for the damages caused by that product. Not guns.

Guns are so damn special.
