Republicans Destroy Government to Prove Government Doesn’t Work

Republicans hate the government – that’s not a secret. But what they don’t want you to know is that they intentionally sabotage government work just so that they can prove the government is broken.

Ring of Fire’s Farron Cousins discusses this.

I can't understand for the life of me why Democrats' everywhere, running against RW
Republicans (are there any other kind still?) don't keep repeating the mantra of:

People seeking to be elected as an government official, while at the same
time expressing contempt and hatred for the very idea of even having
any government in the first place, are incapable of governing effectively,
by definition.

Privatization is only good for corporate profits...

and results in:

1. higher costs to government/public
2. less transparency
3. less accountability
4. and often results in the loss of good jobs

All of our regulatory agencies are grossly under-budgeted and headed by industry appointees of the industry they are supposed to regulate. Do you know why BP and the other oil companies "self regulate?" Because the agencies didn't have the man power to inspect a fraction of the refineries, chemical plants, and oil field work!

I am seeing terrible accidents all of the time now. Severe burns, being gassed to death, leaks like in California... There are NEVER criminal investigations, much less indictments and convictions. BP was on probation when the Deepwater Horizon blew because BP took short cuts. Our firm found the criminal violations in BP's own documents in the 2005 BP Texas City explosion that killed 15 and injured 6,000. They pled guilty to several felonies (no one went to jail). When we met with Eric Holder and gave him all of the dirty documents related to their crimes and asked for BP's probation to be revoked, he said he would get back to us. He didn't, instead he let them off of probation early even though they committed the biggest probation violation of all time!

Now they have rigged the civil litigation and no reporter is touching it because BP is one of the biggest advertisers in TV, print and radio.

Yea Capitolism!

True now, true then.

Too bad millions of our fellow citizens can't see that (and are dragging us down with them).

Woops.

Government created the problem (poison water), Government has the power to fix the problem, and yet little is done because conservatives cannot admit that Government intervention and spending is necessary. The Republicans are blocking spending to repair the public water system that they broke.

In the meantime, tens of thousands of Americans are facing the prospect of being disabled and suffering for the rest of their lives. Not only will this deprive our country of the potential industry of these folks, many will end up needing care and aid for decades.

How does this make any sense in any world? For Christ's sake, just fix the problem, fix it now, and perhaps we can minimize the horrible consequences.
