You're a kid compared to so many of us.

But I still love you, so smart in so many ways.

I'd been making from $0.00 to $2.00 an hour before they hired me. I was proud to be in a union job working as an apprentice. They started me at $3.35 an hour. It went a long ways then:

1974 Prices

Bread: $0.28/loaf
Milk: $1.39/gal*
Eggs: $1.24/doz*
Car: $4,440
Gas: $0.53/gal*
House: $38,900
Stamp: $0.10/ea
Avg Income: $14,711/yr
Min Wage: $2.00/hr
DOW Avg: 616

*Where I lived, those were much lower.

This seems perfectly clear to me. The DoJ has told told Governor Scott to cut out that voter purging shit. It violates federal law.

Governor says that he's not targeting minority voters. If you believe that, I've got some beachfront property by the Sea of Tranquility I'd like to talk to you about. In any case, Governor Scott has until next week to tell the DoJ how he is going to comply. If he tries to go through with his plans, he may have the feds taking a hand in running Florida's elections in the Fall. Yes, they can do that under the Voting Rights Act of 1965.
