(112,252 posts)I like pistachios, cashews, pecans, almonds and walnuts. However, trying to eat them while wearing dentures can be a nightmare. Unfortunately, the way that lower dentures fit over the mandible allows pieces to get trapped between the gumline and denture which can cause some pain during chewing.
I also had to slow down on some other fruits and vegetables like apples and corn-on-the-cob.

I suspect that there is no such thing as a magic diabetic food. And walnuts are not magical in any such sense. They are yummy and a source of protein, but so are legumes, and lean meat, and sushi, and many other things -- all which to a diabetic should be the same thing.
I suspect that this is buckum. Or some vegetarian promotion. Or just maybe by BigWalnut!!!! (I jest.)
Oh dear! I just watched this wretched video. It is about preventing type II diabeties, not using if one is diabetic. My bad.
However, I all the more suspect that this is utter bunkum. Since serum LDL and HDL levels' relationship to diet is complex and multifactorial. Now I know that this was a promotion by BigWalnut. Nobody else would do such a study. And how in the fuck does one blind eating walnuts? If it is not double blinded, the study is worthless.
